DR. JOEL D. STEIN, D.O.,F.A.A.O., F.A.O.A.S.M.
Medical Director
Dr. Stein graduated from KCOM in 1983. He was an undergraduate fellow in the departments of Anatomy and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (KCOM). After serving a general rotating internship and finishing Family Practice training at Humana Hospital South Broward, he became full time faculty at what is now Nova-Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Stein is Board Certified in Family Practice, Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine and Sports Medicine. Dr. Stein is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Osteopathy (FAAO), a Fellow of the American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine (FAOASM), and a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (FACOFP). He serves academically as a Clinical Associate Professor at NSU-COM, Professor Emeritus at University of Miami, School of Medicine, Visiting Clinician for the American Academy of Osteopathy and serves on the AAO Bureau of Experts. Dr. Stein is a board examiner for the American Osteopathic Board of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine (AOBNMM), serving on the Committee on Fellowship of the AAO and for the Conjoint Board in Sports Medicine. Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He is also the Residency Director for Integrated FP/NMM and NMM +1 programs at Larkin Community Hospital, South Miami. Dr. Stein is active at the State and National political levels serving on the FOMA Board of Trustees, and as a Florida representative to the AOA House of Delegates. Dr. Stein serves on the Board of the Florida Society, ACOFP and is an active reviewer for the Florida Department of Health, Board of Osteopathic Medicine. Clinical interests include Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, Acupuncture, Interventional and Integrative Spine Management and Manual Therapy. He is an avid teacher and enjoys being on the lecture bureau for Acorda Pharmaceuticals, Pfizer, Forest Labs, Covidien, Guna Inc., Heel, and Ferring Pharmaceuticals.
Dr. Stein has been in practice in the Broward and Dade County areas since 1984. His special interests are in “treatment of the moving parts of the body”. He has been trained by the Orthopedic Medicine Society, London, UK and holds full membership status as well as Fellow Eligibility. He has a twenty-five plus year history of teaching Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment. Dr. Stein’s other clinical interests include Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, Sports Medicine, Acupuncture, Interventional Injection Techniques, Neuromusculoskeletal Medical Management and Manual Therapy. His clinical faculty includes Family Practice Physicians, Specialists in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) and NeuroMusculoSkeletal Medicine (NMM), Sports Medicine as well as Physiatry (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation). Manual Therapy utilized at the clinics includes Osteopathic Manipulation, Cranial Osteopathy, Craniosacral Therapy, Balanced Membranous/Ligamentous Techniques (BMT/BLT), Strain-Counterstrain, Muscle Energy, Neuromuscular Therapy, Rolfing, Soma Therapy, and Guided Imagery techniques. Dr. STEVEN LICATA D.O.

Dr. Licata graduated from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1997. He completed a residency in Family Practice and Osteopathic Medicine at Broward General Medical Center, Ft. Lauderdale and was board certified in 2000. Dr. Licata completed requirements and became board certified in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine in December 2005. He has been an associate at the Institute for Non-Surgical Orthopedics since 1996. He is a currently an active member of ACOFP, FAO, AOA, AAO and the Cranial Academy. Dr. Licata is also involved with teaching at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine. His title is Clinical Assistant Professor, being involved in teaching residents and students general medicine, sports medicine, manipulation and injection techniques. Dr. Licata has been active in lecturing to physicians at FAO and FOMA conferences on various subjects in Osteopathic Manipulation, Neruromusculoskeletal Medical Management and Sports Medicine.

DR. DARIN BUSH, D.O.
Dr. Bush is a graduate of the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNECOM), Biddeford, Maine, where he served not only as a Teaching Assistant for the Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine Department, but, was president of the Honor Society prior to completing his doctorate. He trained extensively throughout the US as a medical student, and then completed an osteopathic rotating internship at University Community Hospital in Tampa, Florida. Following internship, he completed his Residency in Family Practice at University Community Hospital in Tampa, Florida, where he served as chief resident.
Originally, a native of the Adirondack mountain region in upstate New York, Dr. Bush, earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Biology as an undergraduate at the University of New England. He enhanced his communication and interpersonal skills as an Admissions Counselor for UNE. He was instrumental in recruiting top students throughout the US into the highly competitive physical therapy program at the University of New England. |

Dr. Bush, while at UNE, also was active in sports, including soccer and floor hockey. He served as a member of various environmental protection groups, and spent two winter semesters studying the marine fish species diversity populations as well as of coral diversity off the coast of Belize. When not studying, Dr. Bush spent time traveling and backpacking in Australia, New Zealand, Guatemala, Belize, as well as in the Arizona Mountains. His love of the outdoors, as well as his love of travel made living in southern Maine an enjoyable experience.
As a Board Certified Specialist in Family Practice and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment, Dr. Bush has developed an enthusiasm caring for patients with acute and chronic musculoskeletal problems. He excels at interventional spine management techniques and teaches nationally. Additionally, he acts as teaching mentor for NOVA Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine, the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine as well as for the Broward General Medical Center Family Practice residency program. Dr. Bush combines and uses his knowledge of Osteopathic Medicine, Family Practice and interventional pain management to treat young and aging patients, helping to control pain and restore function and activities of daily living.
When he is not treating pain patients, Dr. Bush studies Age Management extensively through A4M as well as through the Cenegenics Institute. He is able to incorporate this knowledge of age management in private practice at “La Bella” within the physical plant of the Institute for Non-Surgical Orthopedics. His expertise is with hormone modulation and supplementation in the aging population, as well as with aesthetics utilizing BOTOX® and Restylane® injectables.
Outside of work, Dr. Bush is an avid traveler as well as an artist. He enjoys painting, sculpting, acting, traveling, working out, and spending time with friends and family, especially his identical twin brother, who is a chiropractor in Upstate NY. Having been at the Institute for Non-Surgical Orthopedics since 2003 he is well rounded in medicine, the arts and esthetics, and enjoys South Florida living.

Dr. JOSÉ JUAN DIAZ, D.O.
Dr Diaz is the Institute's Physiatrist, practicing in the south Florida area since 2005. He is a specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. His residency training was at Rusk Institute at NYU Medical Center and traditional osteopathic rotating internship at St. John's Episcopal Hospital in New York City. He is Board Certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with special interests in Interventional Pain Management, Sports Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. Dr. Diaz is the Department Chairman of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Nova/Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine. He has also been trained in acupuncture at the Helm's Institute of Stanford University, formerly of UCLA, and is an avid practitioner of acupuncture especially for pain management.
As an undergraduate at Baruch College, City University of New York, he studied for pre-med requisites and earned a Spanish Literature degree with a minor in biology and chemistry. He was a teaching assistant there for two years in the comparative anatomy department.

To further round out his renaissance style education, after college, he worked at Moody's Investor Service as a statistical analyst for the structure finance division. Dr. Diaz has his D.O. (Doctor of Osteopathy - Osteopathic Physician and Surgeon degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. There he was a researcher in microbiology and graduated medical school in 2001.
Dr. Diaz has staff privileges at Holy Cross Hospital and Broward General Medical Center of Fort Lauderdale. He is an active member of the American Osteopathic Association, the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Osteopathic Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Academy of Pain Medicine and the American Academy of Medical Acupuncturists.
His every day practice includes the use of multiple osteopathic techniques, including HVLA, muscle energy, strain-counterstrain, facilitated positional release, balance ligamentous technique, cranial osteopathy/craniosacral therapy and myofascial release. He performs interventional nerve blocks, joint injections, caudal epidurals and prolotherapy. Dr. Diaz has training in use of multiple injectable medications from traditional corticosteroids, Botox for spasticity/spasm and headache as well as homeopathic injectable products including GUNA and Heel products like Traumeel.

DR. LOUIS HASBROUCK, D.O.
After being injured at boarding school at eleven years of age, Louis Hasbrouck, seventeen years later, after a stint in the armed forces was treated by an Osteopathic Physician. Six treatments later, and the sensation of feeling his head move, convinced him to pursue a career in Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Hasbrouck graduated from Still College of Osteopathic Surgery, Des Moines, Iowa in 1955. Prior to that he was a graduate of Trinity College, Hartford, Conn. Between college and Osteopathic medical school; he enlisted in the armed services and ended up in Vienna until 1945. “Dr. Lou”, as he is fondly referred to, served a general rotating internship at Rocky Mountain Osteopathic Hospital, Denver, Colorado from 1955-1956. After internship, he developed a country general practice in Dove Creek, Colorado. His recollection of his first attempt at patient care goes something like this: “I had a phone call to come and make a house call. I went to the home and there was this fellow sitting in a lounge chair. When I asked who was the patient, he answered, I am. “Well, what’s wrong?” “Nothing, I just wanted to see if you would come.””

Dr. Hasbrouck left Dove Creek in 1963 for Kansas City, Mo., where he was to take over John and Rachael Woods Osteopathic practice. The practice was originally that of Ken Little and Cranial Academy fame.
He joined the Clinical Faculty at University of Health Sciences, Kansas City in 1993, and then moved to South Florida where he became Adjunct Clinical Faculty in the Department of Osteopathic Principles and Practice, College of Osteopathic Medicine, Nova Southeastern University.
Dr. Lou is Board Certified in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (AOBOMM) since 1992 and is a Fellow of the Cranial Academy, having been certified by that academy in 1988 and a Fellow since 1995.
Serving on the Board of the Cranial Academy since 1975 and having been President of that academy from 1980 – 1981, he was honored to deliver the William G. Sutherland Memorial Lecture in 1989. Dr. Hasbrouck was honored in 2011 as a doctor pioneer in The Cranial Field as originally taught by William G. Sutherland, D.O. This award was presented by the American Academy of Osteopathy, The Cranial Academy, and the Southerland Cranial Teaching Foundation.
Dr. Hasbrouck brings to our practice a knowledge base of Cranial Osteopathy that is sought after from around the world. He has lectured and conducted courses for the Cranial Academy, Belgium Sutherland Cranial Teaching Foundation and for the various Osteopathic Medical Colleges where he has been a faculty member.
He is constantly seeking and developing the Truths within Osteopathy. He is truly a philosopher who enjoys sailing, carpentry and gardening.

Dr. Glenn S. Chapman, D.O.
Dr. Glenn S. Chapman, III became interested in medicine early in life. His father, Dr. Glenn Chapman Jr., is a physician in South Florida, and young Glenn had many chances to develop his interest by watching and learning from his father.
The first phase in our Dr. Chapman’s life of medicine was kindled by a fascination of cultural uses of plants in health and healing, He completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Anthropology and Archaeology from the University of Central Florida. Then, in 2002, he graduated from the Des Moines University, College of Osteopathic Medicine in Iowa. After serving a general rotating internship at Northside Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida and residency in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine at the University of North Texas, College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, Dr. Chapman has become Board Certified in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulation.
Following Residency, he returned home to Florida and joined a Rheumatology practice in Boynton Beach.

After practicing for a few years, he decided to join a more Integrative Medical practice in Phoenix, Arizona. Along with studying Homeopathic and Integrative Medicine, he took a position as Assistant Professor at the A.T Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine, Phoenix.
“Lots of beach, and no ocean,” was a determining factor for Dr. Chapman to return to South Florida from Arizona. He was invited to join the Institute for Non-Surgical Orthopedics. Of course, the opportunity to be involved in the area’s largest Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine practice was also an enticement.
Dr. Chapman’s special interests in the Multispecialty Primary Orthopedic/Osteopathic care practice include: Nutritional aspects of musculoskeletal healing, interventional neuromusculoskeletal injection techniques, Musculoskeletal Ultrasound for evaluation and injection guidance of peripheral joints, and of course, Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. In daily practice Dr. Chapman uses a variety of traditional and complimentary medical approaches. Some of the osteopathic techniques employed include: High Velocity Low Amplitude, muscle energy, strain-counter strain, facilitated positional release, balanced ligamentous technique, cranial osteopathy/craniosacral therapy and myofascial release. He performs ultrasound guided interventional nerve blocks, joint injections, Prolotherapy/PRP, and fluoroscopic guided procedures such as caudal epidurals. Dr. Chapman has a special interest in complex disorder and toxicity issues like Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and neuromuscular disorders and treats these patients using as variety of traditional and complimentary medical approaches.
He remains on faculty at the A.T Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine, Phoenix, as well as an adjunct faculty member at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, and Nova / Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Chapman enjoys lecturing, teaching and precepting students from first year medical to Senior Residents. Dr. Chapman continues to contribute to Osteopathic education by presenting lectures at national meetings and has been recognized for writing test questions for the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners (NBOME).
Dr. Chapman also has a life in addition to his medical career. He is married to Marie, with one daughter, Jillian. He and his wife continue to be avid surfers and sports enthusiasts.
